Boston Latin Academy has many clubs and activities. The roster of clubs may change from year to year. New clubs may be formed by interested students with the assistance of a faculty advisor.
The following is a list of clubs and activities from the current and recent school years:
Nine BLA students from Ms. Roche’s classes won in the recent BPS Hour of Code contests.

In his inauguration speech in 2014, Mayor Walsh said: “I will listen. I will learn. I will lead.”
BLA student Veena Lagare painted those lines in Latin (“Audiam, discam, ducam”), along with the city seal, on a wooden plaque.
On August 1, 2016, she and seven other members of the Classics Club were volunteering with BLA parent Sue Low at the National Night Out event in Roslindale Square, serving cotton candy and snow cones, when they had the opportunity to present the mayor with the plaque.
Pictured above are senior Branajha Rembert, senior Shayla Hinds (holding a copy of the Boston Globe from the day after the inauguration), Mayor Walsh, junior Malika Petit-Frere Cruickshank, and Veena (also a senior).
The mayor has signed a copy of the photo for each student.
Classics Club eighth-graders Jamar Sequeira, Mira Mehta, Dave Mansaray, and Ryan Browne won the novice level Certamen state championship at this weekend’s Massachusetts Junior Classical League state convention at Barnstable High School. The championship came when they defeated BLS in a thrilling triple tie-breaker match.
As announced in Mr. Henninger’s recent letter to families, as well as in his announcement to students and faculty, BLA students are invited and encouraged to attend after school roundtable meetings to discuss the topics of race, culture, bias, and equity as they exist in and impact our school.
