What is a warning notice and what does it mean?
Warning notices and report cards are distributed to students for SY2011-2012 according to the schedule below. These dates are also posted on the BLA school calendar.SY 2011-2012

ADVANCED PLACEMENT CLASSES:
What AP classes does the school have and how do students get enrolled?
AP class offerings vary from year to year depending on staffing, student interest and scheduling. Course selection for sophomores and juniors takes place in March and April. For more information on AP class offerings, students can contact the program director, subject teacher or guidance counselor.
When are students scheduled to take AP tests?
Students take AP tests at Boston Latin Academy in the spring. For details on this school year’s test dates, see the College Board’s 2012 AP Exam Calendar.

How does my child join the band?
Your child can join the band by e-mailing our music teacher and band director Mr. Eytan Wurman. Make sure that your e-mail includes the following information: your child’s full name, student ID, the instrument the child wishes to play and any experience on that instrument.
What extracurricular activities are at BLA and where can I find out about them?
BLA has many extracurricular activities, ranging from Classics Club to hockey to Robotics. Some are held during studies and others are held after-school. Visit our website for a list of athletics and activities.
SPORTS: Online Resources
How do I get information on the school’s sports teams and when try-outs or sign ups are?
Call the main office and ask who the coach is for the sport your child is interested in. Contact the coach. Most coaches announce try-outs in the Daily Bulletin.
Are all students welcome to participate and/or be part of the school sports teams or only the best athletes?
Any student can try out for a sports team and all students are encouraged to participate. A list of the sports offered at Boston Latin Academy is online.
Where can I find a team’s schedule?
If a student is a member of a sports team, the coach will give the student a printed schedule. Check the school calendar for game days.MAXPREPS is a website that has schedules and information on several BLA teams.
