The Friends of BLA is a non-profit organization charged with raising money to fund Boston Latin Academy’s greatest financial needs.
Every November, the Friends of BLA asks the BLA community to make a tax-deductible donation to support the school and benefit each and every student. If each family contributes to BLA, in any amount, our students will benefit through enhanced technology and improved academic and extracurricular resources.
You can give securely through the Friends of BLA site on Razoo.com or you can use the payment envelope attached to your student’s report card.
Thank you in advance for supporting Boston Latin Academy.
Homeroom teachers distributed copies of this letter regarding school safety on September 21.
The Friends of BLA funded many items in the 2014-2015 school year. These included agenda books for all Sixies and Beezies, math software, books, science kits, school-musical licensing expenses, and scholarships. The organization also provided mini-grants to support clubs and activities, including Certamen, the science fair, the poetry slam, the sports banquet, mock trials, and the world languages bazaar.
BLA issues each student a combination lock that must be used to secure the student’s locker.
Students in Ms. Roche’s class made this video to show how the combination locks.
(Update May 13, 2016: We no longer use the “blue books” that are mentioned in the video.)
