Homework

Homework is a valuable tool in enhancing classroom instruction. Because of the strong emphasis on academics at Boston Latin Academy , students are expected to do three hours of homework per night. This may include written assignments, long-range projects, reading, research and studying. Students should have a notebook or calendar in which homework assignments are noted for each class.

Teachers include the completion of homework assignments in calculating student’s grades. Most teachers will inform the students at the beginning of the school year how missed homework assignments will affect their grade. A student who habitually does not complete his/her homework can expect his/her grade to reflect this.

Many teachers post homework on their teacher sites, which can be accessed through the Administration & Faculty page. In addition, there is a unique 7th grade homework website.
